Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Amplify AI ("Amplify", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, how we store it, and who we share it with. It covers both the Amplify AI browser extension and the Amplify AI website (amplifyai.cc). By installing the extension or using the website, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Prompt content you choose to improve
When you actively use Amplify to classify or rewrite a prompt, the extension sends the text of the prompt you are composing in the AI chat site's input field to our servers so it can be analyzed and rewritten. The extension only reads the content of the prompt input field on supported AI sites when you use the feature — it does not read your passwords, unrelated page content, or your browsing history.
1.2 Account information
To use the extension you sign in (Google, GitHub, or email). We receive your email address, name (if your provider supplies one), and a user identifier from our authentication provider. Waitlist members also have an access code.
1.3 Preferences and settings
We store the settings you configure — such as rewrite intensity, your preferred target AI model, tone, and optional work context — so the rewrite can be personalized.
1.4 Usage and diagnostic data
For each request we record limited metadata: a request identifier, timestamp, latency, the detected prompt category, the AI model used, and rate-limiting counters tied to your account. We also log the prompt you submitted and the rewrite we returned, in order to operate, debug, secure, and improve the service (see Section 4 on retention).
1.5 Data stored in your browser
The extension uses your browser's extension storage to cache your sign-in session and your settings so you stay logged in and the extension works smoothly. This data stays in your browser and is not used for advertising or tracking.
1.6 Website analytics
On our website we collect basic, privacy-focused analytics (such as page views and referral source) that do not use tracking cookies and do not identify you individually.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To analyze and rewrite the prompts you submit (the core feature)
- To personalize rewrites using your saved settings
- To authenticate you and enforce waitlist / access-code eligibility
- To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
- To operate, debug, secure, and improve the product
- To send you account, waitlist, and product communications
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use your prompt content for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to providing and improving Amplify.
3. AI Processing & Third-Party Services
To generate rewrites, the text of your prompt is sent to our AI provider, which processes it and returns a result:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your prompt text to classify and rewrite it. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf to deliver the feature.
- Supabase — authentication and database storage (account, settings, prompt logs).
- Vercel — hosting of our website and serverless API.
- Resend — delivery of transactional and product emails.
Each provider processes data only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy and security commitments. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Data Storage, Security & Retention
All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Account, settings, and prompt-log data are stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security; privileged keys are kept server-side only and are never exposed to the browser.
We retain prompt logs and usage data for as long as necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service, and we delete or anonymize them when they are no longer needed for those purposes. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6).
5. Limited Use Disclosure
Amplify's use of information received from its operation complies with applicable platform requirements, including the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. Specifically: we only collect and use data to provide and improve user-facing features of Amplify; we do not sell user data; we do not use or transfer it for advertising, ad personalization, or creditworthiness; and we do not allow humans to read your data except where you give consent, where it is necessary for security or to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated/anonymized for internal operations.
6. Your Rights & Choices
You can:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Stop using the extension and uninstall it at any time
- Unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 9.
7. Children
Amplify is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
